I did. It's not like I meant to. It just happened, like most accidents in seedy Los Angeles, when you’re too desperate to help yourself. The type of desperation loan sharks and poor business decisions and a failing private investigator business breeds. When Beth Duvall stepped into my office looking for the perfect detective for the job, I should have stopped her then and there.
It would have saved the trouble of having my whole family put in danger. Ex-wife, kid, and even my best buddy and partner; Kinsley.
I probably would have been able to avoid turning into a vampire too. But what’s done is done and considering I still need the cash and a way to free myself of this curse, I’ll be chasing after Beth Duvall’s husband to the ends of the earth. Wherever he is, to stop the trail of bodies he leaves behind.
Especially if he’s trying something so bad it might put the whole city in apocalyptic danger.
