The story probably goes along the lines of a bullied character or non-popular character where s/he becomes the target of direct bullying, hit by a truck, or is betrayed by fellow classmates whereas they work their way up the social ladder from the beginning of the new world. s/he then acquires a harem or a bunch of friends that s/he can trust. You usually see this or countless other examples of heroism or anti-heroism as they grow as a person.
