There's a legend that tells of a man with no name, birthed from nothing. Even then, he had too much to lose. His mother abandoned him for another child. His lover deserted him for another man. He sought vengeance and thirsted for the blood of all who had forsaken him yet, fate robbed him even of that consolation. On the precipice of madness, he searched the darkness for an answer. What he found instead bled into his mind like a plague and defiled its deepest recesses with corruption. With nothing left for him to live for, he turned his back to the world, determined to hide himself away and savor what parts of life there was left to savor -- only for fate to drag him right back into the fray.
